8th Deyata Kirulla Exhibition Declared Open by President – 21st February 2014

“Deyata Kirula” – the national development exhibition which was organized at Wayaba University premises was inaugurated by His Excellency the President Mahinda Rajapaksa on 21st February 2014. The opening ceremony replete with several dancing displays made it a spectacular inauguration in this pleasant evening.

It is the 8th successful year and is being held in a grand scale. The President unveiled the commemorative plaque and visited every gallery.

Under the theme of “Awakening of the Sri Lankan People,” this year exhibition commenced on 21st February 2014 and will be available for 7 days.

More than 500 stalls are established for both government and private sectors in 162 acre extent. All necessary facilities are provided for visiting people and exhibition officers.

President Rajapaksa said “the country is ready to face any challenge successfully and move forward”.President stated this addressing the inaugural session of the Deyata Kirula Exhibition in Kuliyapitiya under the theme “Awakening of the Sri Lankan People,” yesterday. The Deyata Kirula Exhibition displays the country’s journey towards being the Wonder of Asia based on the Mahinda Chinthana Policy he further said.

On arrival at the Exhibition venue President Rajapaksa was accorded a warm welcome. The President and First Lady Shiranthi Wickremasinghe Rajapaksa were welcomed with many local cultural features.

Meanwhile. the Northern Provincial Council was declared open by Governor of the Northern Province GA Chandrasiri. Development activities in the province and things related to newly established Provincial Council have also been exhibited at the gallery.
